Benefits for Those Who Have a Reverent Awe of God
The Lord delights in us:
“The Lord delights in those who fear Him,
Who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Psalms 147:11
The Lord confides in those who fear Him:
“The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him; And
He will show them His covenant.” Psalms 25:14
We gain wisdom, knowledge and understanding:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10
We have strong confidence–and a great place of refuge is ours:
“In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And His children will have a place of refuge.” Proverbs 14:36
Healing and blessed provisions are ours:
“But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings; And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.” Malachi 4:2
God’s mercy is ever with us:
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him . . .” Psalms 103:11
We have the pity of a Father for His children:
“As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.” Psalms 103:13
It goes well with us and our faith has a powerful affect on our children:
“Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me
and always keep all My commands, that it might be well with them and their
children forever!” Deuteronomy 5:29
The comfort of the Holy Spirit and fruitfulness accompanies our lives:
“Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria
had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in
the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.” Acts 9:31
Salvation is ours:
“Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those
among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent.” Acts 13:26
Goodness is bestowed on us:
“How great is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You,
Which You bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in You.” Psalms 31:19
Fear of God (while walking in obedience) sees us lacking nothing:
“Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who
fear Him lack nothing.” Psalms 34:9
The eyes of the Lord are ever seeking us out:
“But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him,
On those whose hope is in His unfailing love . . .” Psalms 33:18
Good understanding comes to us:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding
have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.” Psalms 111:10
We will never be shaken:
“He who walks uprightly And works righteousness. . .
those who fear the Lord . . . to his own hurt and does not change . . .
will never be moved.” Psalms 15:2-5
